Structure design of paper suitcase

The above die line box template is the structure of a paper suitcase. It's one of the mostly common gift packaging for fruits, food etc.. The bottom of this suitcase is a self lock structure, unlike other semi auto lock structures, it's more complicated, and the top of the suitcase is a handle, it is much more convenient than handbag punch with a rope on the top.

When doing structural design of the paper suitcase, certain relations between the parameters need to bear in mind:

1. The length of the handle part value SW2 can not be more than 1/2 of the length of the suitcase, it means SW2<L/2;

2. The value of parameter W5 should be related with the width of the suitcase, usually it is half of the width minus half of the caliper, it means W5=W/2-CAL/2;

3. The value of parameter H6 in the auto lock structure should be related with the length of the suitcase, to make the self lock structure more reasonable, its value is half of the length minus the caliper, H6=L/2-CAL;

4. The value of parameter H7 equals half of the width of the suitecase, K6=W/2, K8<W/4;

The most important part,

Look at the above photo, in the handle section, the keyhole value should be larger than the lock part, if too large, the lock part is a little more loose and unsafe, if too small, the lock part can not match with the keyhole. Here we measured the lock part value is 29.15mm, so SW1 should be larger than that, it should be 30.5 or 31 mm would be okay. After that we can check the structure design via Packmage CAD 3D features.
